“If you don't have something to strive for, you're not going to hit anything meaningful. I am going to be a big voice against greenwashing because I am risking a lot, betting a lot, and making a stand that if we don't make great progress, our grandchildren may not be able to eat. Not everybody has to be ROC, but don't give up on the highest standard because if you do, all of your competitors who are greenwashing are going to come and take your market share. Eventually, you have to stand for something.”

ReGen Brand News:
The global regenerative agriculture market size was estimated at USD 924.0 million in 2022 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.7% from 2023 to 2030.
“Nowadays, consumers seek healthy and nutritious food and those that are environmentally sustainable and support local communities. Consequently, several food companies are now promoting their products as being produced using regenerative practices, which has become a potent marketing tool. Consumers are willing to pay a premium price for food products that resonate with their values. As a result, more and more food companies are adopting these sustainable practices, contributing to the greater awareness and adoption of these practices across the food industry.”
The article profiled Oatman Farms and their work at Oatman Flats Ranch.
“Their work is inspiring. And if the rest of the state can follow their example, fast-growing Arizona could serve as a model of how the Southwest can survive a water crisis that is only getting worse.”
👩🌾 Without Farmers at the Center, Regenerative Agriculture Will Be a Slogan Not a Solution
But to unleash the potential of regenerative agriculture, farmers, Indigenous Peoples, and other land stewards must be front and center in articulating a vision and setting direction for regenerative agriculture.
At the new institute, Nestlé experts screen and develop solutions in key focus areas such as plant science, agricultural systems and dairy livestock.
The institute is also working with farmers to trial regenerative agriculture practices to improve soil health and encourage biodiversity.
🥤 The junk-food executive working on regenerative farming
“We need farmers to successfully farm and to keep farming. So the resilience of our supply chain is essential. And so how do I make clear to our business people the importance of supporting and bringing regenerative practices? Because without crops, we don’t have business.”
“We know that regenerative farmers have more resilience, less risk, usually actually have higher yields once they get through the first few years.”
To really put those into place takes three things. There’s a financial challenge to it. There’s a technical challenge. The third is social, cultural.
